CERATIX® 8461 by BYK is a wax dispersion based on an ethylene-vinylacetate-copolymer (EVA) copolymer. It acts as a rheology modifier for solvent-borne effect coatings.
  • It offers improved orientation of effect pigments (aluminum, mica etc.).
  • It enhances flip-flop effect and reduces sedimentation tendency during storage.
  • It exhibits improved pipe circulation stability and prevents large scale clouding effect.
  • CERATIX® 8461 possesses improved D.O.I. of clear coats and reduces short wave defects (mottling, Benard cells).
  • It is used in solvent-borne base coats and one coat metallic top coats.
  • Recommended level is 40-70% additive (as supplied) based upon solid binder.
  • It is especially used in automotive-, industrial-, and leather coating applications.
