Reducing Agent TP 1651 by Brüggemann is a new advanced, formaldehyde-free reducing agent with high process robustness. It can be used in redox systems in combination with all commonly used oxidizing agents. Leads to a rapid decrease of free monomer content. Provides improved properties for resulting latices. Shows excellent performance for the emulsion polymerization of styrene acrylate-based systems. Complies with FDA §175.300 and FDA §175.320 for resinous and polymeric coatings for polyolefin films. It has a shelf life of at least 12 months when stored dry at 25°C. Reducing Agent TP 1651 is applied as a 3-5% solution in water with 0.05-0.2% active content on total formulation for post polymerization.
