Raven 1255 (Surface oxidized, “Treated” product) by Birla Carbon is carbon black for use in premium offset ink and specialty coatings. It is available in beads and powder to ensure excellent processability in production. It possesses significantly reduced PAH levels over commonly used gas and channel blacks which qualify it for sensitive applications. The product’s low structure aids in blue tone development while enabling high pigment loadings when utilized in pigment concentrates. It is suitable for solvent, water-borne and powder coatings systems. It offers excellent wetting & dispersion properties, improved process viscosity, pigment loading and stability. It provides high gloss, blue undertone and tailored blackness for medium color coatings. Raven 1255 is used in decorative coatings, industrial coatings, automotive coatings and coil coatings.
