Laropal® A 81 by BASF is a condensed product from urea and aliphatic aldehydes. Used in combination with binders in many types of coating formulations and for manufacturing of solvent-based pigment pastes.
  • It is an aldehyde resin for pigment dispersions and because of its excellent solubility and compatibility it can be used in many types of coating formulations.
  • It improves gloss, hardness, body, adhesion and resistance to yellowing.
  • Provides good pigment wetting and good heat resistance.
  • Offers compatibility with alkyd resins, cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetobutyrate, vinyl chloride copolymers, chlorinated rubber and hydroxypolyacrylates.
  • It is also compatible with melamine-formaldehyde resins, aromatic & aliphatic epoxy resins, hydrocarbon resins and phthalate plasticizers.
  • Exhibits promotes the natural grain & color of wood, good elasticity and excellent toughness.
  • Laropal® A 81 is used in automotive OEM, general metal and industrial coatings.
