FoamStar® SI 2220 (Old name: Dehydran® 2620) by BASF is a silicone-based defoamer for aqueous coatings. It is a mixture of polymers and polysiloxanes. Exhibits rapid bubble break and good persistence. Maintains the gloss of the coatings. Prevents air entrapment/foam in semi-gloss and high gloss architectural paints and water-borne industrial coatings. Possesses low odor. Does not stratify in storage. Used in architectural paints and industrial coatings. The recommended dosage level of FoamStar® SI 2220 is 0.1-0.5% calculated on total formulations.
