Efka® RM 1920 (Old name: Rilanit® Special Micro) by BASF acts as a thixotropic agent for paints, printing inks and other coatings. It is a hydrogenated castor oil. Offers very good working and flow properties. Substantially reduces pigment settling. Prevents sagging of thick films on vertical surfaces. Efka® RM 1920 imparts good brushability. Used in most non-aqueous coatings both with and without solvents like primers, fillers and topcoats, based on chlorinated rubber, alkyd resins, epoxy resins and unsaturated polyester. It is also compatible with acrylates, polyurethane, epoxy esters, PVC and PVC copolymers, tar, bitumen, and polyethylene chloride. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
