Efka® RM 1920 (Old name: Rilanit® Special Micro) by BASF acts as a thixotropic agent for paints, printing inks and other coatings. It is a hydrogenated castor oil. Offers very good working and flow properties.
- Substantially reduces pigment settling. Prevents sagging of thick films on vertical surfaces.
- It imparts good brushability.
- Used in most non-aqueous coatings both with and without solvents like primers, fillers and topcoats, based on chlorinated rubber, alkyd resins, epoxy resins and unsaturated polyester.
- It is also compatible with acrylates, polyurethane, epoxy esters, PVC and PVC copolymers, tar, bitumen, and polyethylene chloride.
- Efka® RM 1920 has a shelf life of 2 years.
