Dispex® AA 4140 by BASF is a derivative of a family of highly effective, low-viscosity dispersing agent for water-based coating systems, particularly suitable for the dispersion of inorganic pigments and fillers.
- Based on an organic polymer, it provides improved storage stability of both pigment dispersions and formulated paints compared with inorganic dispersing agents such as polyphosphate products.
- It exhibits little or no adverse reaction to high temperatures or pH changes and remains effective over a pH range of 5–12 and at temperatures exceeding 100 °C.
- Dispex® AA 4140 is used in architectural and industrial coatings.
- The recommended dosage is 0.5-2% on total pigment weight.
