Basonat® IT 170 B by BASF is polyfunctional isocyanurates of isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI). Can be thinned with esters such as butyl acetate, ketones, glycolether acetates and aromatic hydrocarbons (such as Solvesso®1 100, xylene). Suitable for crosslinking most hydroxylic acrylates, polyester and polyether resins. Basonat® IT 170 B is used to formulate polyurethane coatings with particularly good fastness to light and weathering. It must be ensured that all solvents, pigments, extenders etc. are free from compounds containing active hydrogen groups (such as water, amines etc.).
