EXOCOAT™ 161

EXOCOAT™ 161 by Axcentive is a multipurpose, high performance coating resin. It is preceramic in nature, as it cures ceramic layer. Upon curing, it converts to an inorganic highly crosslinked layer with excellent barrier properties, high durability, and extreme hardness (9H). Offers chemical-, scratch-, oxidation resistance and temperature resistance over 1000°C for prolonged period of time. It can function as stand-alone resin at a layer thickness of 0.5 to 2 µm to form a durable finish that can be easy to clean. It bonds to substrates such as steel, aluminium, glass, and old coating layers. It can be used as conversion coating replacing Cr(VI). It may be co-formulated with most frequently used coating ingredients from the group of pigments, fillers, resins, additives and (co-)solvents and creates colored, super hard or matt surfaces. EXOCOAT™ 161 is highly advised to be used in aprotic solvents. It has a shelf life of 6 months.
