Dextrol™ OC-40 by Ashland is the free-acid form of a tridecyl alcohol ethoxylated phosphate ester. It is an anionic phosphate ester surfactant. It is an effective emulsifier in emulsion polymerization.
  • It helps stabilize the emulsion in the production of synthetic latex resins.
  • It provides the finished latex with low coagulum and offers improved handling and storage stability.
  • It can be neutralized by the user with a number of organic or inorganic bases.
  • It enhances gloss and color acceptance in waterborne paints.
  • It improves the dispersion of pigments during processing and serves to enhance surface wetting.
  • It inhibits flash and nail head rusting and offers improved freeze-thaw resistance.
  • It is suitable for waterborne architectural paints applications.
  • It contains no APEOs (Alkylphenol Ethoxylates).
  • It has a recommended usage level of 1.5-3% by weight on total monomers.
