Dextrol™ OC-15 by Ashland is the free-acid form of an ethoxylated tridecyl alcohol phosphate ester. It is a highly effective anionic emulsifier. It is used primarily in emulsion polymerization.
  • It helps in achieving small particle size in latex polymers and provides the finished latex with low coagulum.
  • It improves the handling and storage stability of the latex.
  • It can be used as a wetting and dispersing agent in waterborne coatings.
  • It enhances pigment dispersion and color acceptance in waterborne systems.
  • It offers increased gloss, improved surface wetting and freeze-thaw resistance in paint.
  • It also inhibits flash and nail head rusting.
  • It is compatible with various latex systems including vinyl, vinyl acrylic, vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE), acrylic and styrene acrylic.
  • It has a recommended dosage level of 1.5-3% by weight on total monomers.
  • It contains no APEOs (Alkylphenol Ethoxylates).
