CYMEL® 1158 by allnex is n-butylated melamine-formaldehyde cross-linking agent. It possesses a medium to a high degree of alkylation, low to medium methylol content and medium to high amino functionality. It is specially designed for medium solids systems, providing a fast cure response, low blistering tendency and low formaldehyde release during cure. It has a high tendency to self-condense resulting in films with high film hardness that can be adjusted based on loading. It shows very good compatibility with acrylic-, alkyd-, epoxy- and polyester resins. CYMEL® 1158 improves substrate wetting, flow & leveling, humidity and salt spray resistance. Recommended for automotive topcoats and general industrial finishes. The shelf life of this additive is 720 days.
