Triacid Monomers for Coatings and Inks

Pripol™ 1040 by Cargill is a trimer acid rich building block. It provides excellent hydrophobicity and shows excellent compatibility with other low-polarity materials.

• It offers enhanced flexibility even at low temperatures, which allows the product to deform under stress and prevents cracking of the coating.
• It exhibits excellent protective properties and good pigment wetting allowing a high loading of pigment/fillers.
• It allows exposure to high humid environments.
• It is recommended for high performance industrial-, marine and protective coatings.

Floradyme™ 6500 by Florachem is trimer acid produced from specific vegetable-based raw materials such as rapeseed, tallow, tall oil and cottonseed. The high trimer content of this product would be beneficial for applications requiring high functionality that trimer acids provide, along with the reactive properties needed in a dimer acid product. Floradyme™ 6500 used in the production of reactive and non-reactive polyamides for inks.

Empol® 1043 by BASF is a tall oil fatty acid, TOFA. It is a trimer acid. Empol® 1043 by BASF imparts the highly desirable properties of flexibility, elasticity and high impact strength.

3-Butene-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid by Polysciences is a crosslinking monomer. It is used in the preparation of alkenyl ester crosslinking monomers.

Pripol™ 1045 by Cargill is trimer fatty acid. It brings an extreme water repellency, corrosion inhibition, flexibility and good compatibility with other low polarity materials. Used for polyamide and epoxy modification. Pripol™ 1045 is used in automotive and industrial coatings applications.
