Transparent pigments are finely milled powders that maintain translucency while imparting color, gloss, or UV protection to coatings. These pigments offer high tint strength, excellent lightfastness, and compatibility with both solvent-based and water-based systems. Unlike opaque pigments, they allow underlying textures or patterns to remain visible, making them ideal for wood finishes, metallic coatings, and specialty decorative applications. 

Transparent pigments especially organic and heavy-metal-free types are gaining popularity for their sustainability and color precision. Available in organic and inorganic sub-types, including iron oxides and quinacridones, these pigments are being reformulated to meet evolving regulatory requirements, such as restrictions on lead, cadmium, and chromium compounds under global frameworks like REACH and Prop 65.

EDAPLAN® 396

EDAPLAN® 396 by Munzing acts as a wetting agent and dispersant for aqueous coatings. It is recommended for coatings & organic azo pigments in aqueous media, nanoscale iron oxides, titanium dioxides, and carbon blacks.
