Texturing Agents for Coatings and Inks

Techpolymer™ EFC-208B by Sekisui Kasei can be used as a matting agent. Offers soft and smooth texture on coating surface. It is a crosslinked acrylic copolymer grade. It contains 50% biomass content and contributes in lowering the environmental loads. Its mean particle diameter is between 6.0-10.0 µm. Techpolymer™ EFC-208B is composed of polymer particles and can maintain the major properties as other Techpolymer™ lineup.

Techpolymer™ MBX-5 by Sekisui Kasei is a matting agent. It is a cross-linked methyl methacrylate and ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate copolymer grade. Offers good mechanical- and solvent resistance. It has mean particle diameter between 4.0-6.0 µm. Techpolymer™ MBX-5 is recommended for use in plastic-, automotive interior-, wood- and coil coating.

AHA1208 distributed by DKSH acts as a texturing agent. It is an organic-metallic compound, which can be applicable to any powder coatings to impart special texture finishes such as wrinkle, reticulated, vein, embossed and grained appearance (“frosted glass”).

• Recommended dosage level is 1-2%.

SYLOID® CP4 7358 distributed by DKSH is a texturing agent providing an abrasion resistant, decorative surface structure to the finished coating. It is a synthetic amorphous silica.

• It is used in clear or pigmented 2-component polyurethane finishes.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months.
• SYLOID® CP4 7358 is available in Europe.

SYLOID® CP4 7051 distributed by DKSH is a synthetic amorphous silica. It is used as texturing agent providing an abrasion resistant, decorative surface structure to the finished coating.

• It is used in clear or pigmented 2-component polyurethane finishes.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months.
• SYLOID® CP4 7051 is available in Europe.

Techpolymer™ EFC-215B by Sekisui Kasei can be used as a matting agent. Provides soft and smooth texture on coating surface. It is acrylic copolymer grade and contains 50% biomass content. Its mean particle diameter is between 12.0-18.0 µm. Techpolymer™ EFC-215B is composed of cross-linked polymer particles and can maintain the major properties as other Techpolymer™ lineup while it contributes to lowering the environmental loads.

Techpolymer™ MBX-40 by Sekisui Kasei is a matting agent. Provides good mechanical- and solvent resistance. It is a cross-linked methyl methacrylate and ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate copolymer grade. Its mean particle diameter is between 36.0-44 µm. Techpolymer™ MBX-40 is used for many kind of applications such as plastic-, automotive interior-, wood- and coil coating.

Techpolymer™ AFX-8 by Sekisui Kasei acts as a matting agent. It gives very soft and elastic texture on coating surface. It is a mixture of cross-linked acrylic copolymer and silica. Its mean particle diameter is between 6.0-10.0 µm. It is the softest grade among Techpolymer™ line up. Techpolymer™ AFX-8 is designed for many kind of applications such as plastic-, automotive interior-, wood- and coil coating.

Luna-add 1096 distributed by DKSH is a teflon-free texture additive. It offers a rough structure effect (similar to a sand texture effect). It provides excellent scratch resistance and can be used with epoxy, polyester or hybrid resin systems.
