Surfactants for Coatings and Inks

Thetawet™ FS-8020EB by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a 30% active, water soluble, low foaming, anionic fluorosurfactant with tolerance to mineral based fillers (calcium carbonate). It acts as excellent wetting and leveling agent for wetting difficult to wet surfaces (plastics, oily substrates, waxy surfaces), for reduction in coating surface defects and enhanced gloss development for smoother, more even films in finishes & polishes. It does not impart color or change the optical properties of the coating beyond potential gloss or DOI improvement from better reflectance. It shows exceptional stability and functionality in severe thermal & chemical environments, also stable even in highly acidic or basic environments and in hard water without chelation. It is ideal for use in VOC sensitive systems. It is used in industrial and architectural paints & coatings, floor finishes, sealers, automotive finishes & top coats, lacquers and polishes. It is based on short-chain fluorochemical technology which meets the goal of the US EPA 2010/2015 PFOA Stewardship Program. Recommended dosage level of Thetawet™ FS-8020EB is 0.01-0.05%. It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Flexiwet™ CZ-1040K by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a non-fluorinated surfactant mixture-based wetting- and leveling agent for smoother and defect-free coatings. It offers anti-blocking, improved open time and reduced surface tension without increased foaming.

• It is ideal for wetting difficult-to-wet substrates like plastics, oily substrates and waxy surfaces.
• It does not impart color or change the optical properties of a coating (beyond potential gloss or DOI- distinctness of image).
• It is used in paints and coatings formulations.
• It is a pre-neutralized version of Flexiwet™ CZ-1000.
• Recommended dosage of Flexiwet™ CZ-1040K is 0.2 to 2.0 wt%.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Flexiwet™ CZ-1000 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a non-fluorinated surfactant mixture that acts as wetting and leveling agent for smoother and defect-free coatings. It offers anti-blocking, improved open time and reduced surface tension at low loading levels without increased foaming.

• It is ideal for wetting difficult-to-wet substrates like plastics, oily substrates and waxy surfaces.
• It does not impart color or change the optical properties of a coating (beyond potential gloss or DOI-distinctness of image).
• It is used in paints and coatings formulations.
• It is a neutralized version of Flexiwet™ CZ-1040K.
• Recommended dosage of Flexiwet™ CZ-1000 is 0.1 to 1.0 wt%.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Thetawet™ FS-8150 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a VOC-free, nonionic fluorosurfactant in a low viscosity aqueous solution. It offers excellent wetting benefits which improves wetting of difficult to wet surfaces such as plastics, oily substrates, waxy surfaces and provides excellent surface tension reduction to 18 dynes/cm at low use levels.

• It is 25% active, sparingly water-soluble product which is effective at low end use concentrations.
• This low foam product performs well in severe chemical and thermal environments.
• It is effective in high or low pH, hard or soft water and stable in concentrated acids, bases and oxidyzing solutions.
• It is ideal for use in VOC-sensitive systems.
• Offers narrow-range ethoxylation for high consistency in critical use concentrations such as ink jet medias.
• It is used in paints and industrial coatings.
• It is based on short-chain fluorochemical technology which meets the goal of the US EPA 2010/2015 PFOA Stewardship Program.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.01-0.1%.
• Thetawet™ FS-8150 has a shelf life of 3 years.

Flexiwet™ CZ-1100 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a non-fluorinated surfactant, wetting and leveling agent. It provides smoother and defect-free coatings. It offers anti-blocking and reduced surface tension at low loading levels.

• It is ideal for wetting difficult-to-wet substrates like plastics, oily substrates and waxy surfaces.
• It is used in paints and coatings including floor care applications.
• Recommended dosage of Flexiwet™ CZ-1100 is 0.15 to 0.35 wt%.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.

NUOSPERSE® FN 211 by Elementis acts as a wetting agent and dispersing agent. It is APEO-free, non-ionic, low-VOC and has low odor. It improves the storage stability of the paint, including freeze/thaw. It is composed of a non-ionic surfactant with polyether segments and a hydrophobic backbone.

• It optimizes color development, reduces flocculation and allows highest pigment loading.
• NUOSPERSE® FN 211 is used in waterborne coating formulations and emulsion paints.
• The recommended dosage is 0.2-1.0% on the total weight for emulsion paints and 15% on the total weight for pigment dispersions.
• It has a shelf life of 3 years.

Flexiwet™ CZ-1240K by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a non-fluorinated surfactant mixture that provides powerful wetting & leveling performance as well as anti-blocking. It offers reduced surface tension, improved open time and smoother, defect free coatings.

• It does not impart color or change the optical properties of a coating (beyond potential gloss or DOI).
• It is excellent for wetting difficult-to-wet substrates.
• It has surface diffusion properties which deliver block resistance.
• It can be incorporated during the letdown phase of production or post-added to the final formulation.
• The recommended dosage level is 0.2 to 2.0 wt%.
• It is used in coatings, paints, polishes and lacquers.
• Flexiwet™ CZ-1240K has a shelf life of 12 months.

Thetawet™ FS-8250 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a VOC-free, anionic fluorosurfactant which provides anti-blocking in paints, particularly elevated temperature block resistance. It is 28% active, water dispersible, very low foaming product.

• It offers excellent wetting and leveling benefits which improves pigment wetting and wetting of hard to wet surfaces.
• It extends open time of typical latex paint upto 2X and helps hide brush marks.
• It does not impart color or change the optical properties of the coating.
• It partially replaces coalescent solvents for further VOC formulation reductions.
• It orients and concentrates at all liquid interfaces, imparting release properties, improved weatherability, soil resistance and improved open time.
• It is ideal for use in VOC sensitive systems.
• It is used in industrial and architectural paints & coatings, high solids coatings, floor finishes, sealers, automotive finishes & top coats, lacquers and polishes.
• It is based on short-chain fluorochemical technology which meets the goal of the US EPA 2010/2015 PFOA Stewardship Program.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.05-0.25% for leveling, gloss development and foam control in water-based systems and 0.25-0.75% in neat and solvent-based systems.
• Thetawet™ FS-8250 has a shelf life of 3 years.

Thetawet™ FS-8020DB by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a 30% active, water soluble, moderate foaming, anionic fluorosurfactant containing a low vapor pressure solvent. It acts as wetting and leveling agent. It is excellent for wetting difficult to wet surfaces (such as plastics, oily substrates, waxy surfaces) and for reduction in coating surface defects and enhanced gloss development for smoother, more even films in finishes & polishes. It partially replaces coalescent solvents for further VOC formulation reductions. It does not impart color or change the optical properties of the coating beyond potential gloss or DOI improvement from better reflectance. It shows exceptional stability and functionality in severe thermal & chemical environments, also stable even in highly acidic or basic environments and in hard water without chelation. It is ideal for use in VOC sensitive systems. It is used in industrial and architectural paints & coatings, floor finishes, sealers, automotive finishes & top coats, lacquers and polishes. It is based on short-chain fluorochemical technology which meets the goal of the US EPA 2010/2015 PFOA Stewardship Program. Recommended dosage level is 0.01-0.05%. Thetawet™ FS-8020DB has a shelf life of 12 months.

ADDITOL® XW 6581 by allnex is a wetting agent and ionic & non-ionic surfactant with pigment affinity groups. It is free of nonylphenolethoxylates and VOC. It improves wetting of organic and inorganic pigments in all water-borne coating systems. It reduces the grind viscosity and prevents pigment reflocculation during formulated paint storage. It is suitable for neutral and amine neutralized applications. It is highly effective for alkyd resin emulsions, acrylics, polyesters, epoxies, UV curing backbone resin systems, polyurethane emulsions and standard emulsions designed to formulate quality coating systems. It is also suited for the preparation of pigment pastes containing no binders. The recommended dosage for inorganic pigments is 1.0-10.0 % and for organic pigments is 10.0-40.0 %. The shelf life of ADDITOL® XW 6581 is 730 days.
