Sol-gel Resins for Coatings and Inks

EXOCOAT™ Ceramic Coil by Axcentive is a high-performance preceramic coating resin used to create durable anti-graffiti coil coatings. It is PFAS-free, very hydrophobic and oleophobic, non-stick and repellent, with strong substrate bonding, and features an abrasion-resistant ceramic layer. It also meets G0 anti-graffiti standards according to NF 31-112.

• It can bond to coating layers based on polyester or polyurethane to form an anti-graffiti finish.
• It provides good outdoor resistance, excellent anti-graffiti and anti-corrosion properties notably on aluminum sheets.
• It serves as an excellent replacement for FEVE resins.
• It is primarily used in glossy clear coatings but may be matted.
• It is suitable for anti-graffiti coatings, including topcoat over digitally printed metal, topcoat over polyester coatings, topcoat over polyurethane coatings and direct-to-metal coatings.
• EXOCOAT™ Ceramic Coil has a shelf life of 1 year.
• It complies with EC Regulation 1907/2006 (REACH) and is registered in the inventories such as CAS, EINECS, TSCA, AICS, CEPA, and MITI.

EXOCOAT™ Ceramic + by Axcentive is a preceramic coating resin that cures to a ceramic coating with extreme hydrophobic properties. When it is applied, it undergoes ceramization to form an ultra-durable, hard coating up to 15N scratch resistance at less than 10 microns.

• It is characterized by non-stick, hydrophobic and oleophobic properties resulting in easy to clean and anti-graffiti behavior.
• It provides strong adhesion to steel, aluminum, glass and plastics like PMMA and ABS as well as to old coating layers.
• It covalently bonds with the substrate resulting in a very durable finish.
• It can be used as standalone resin or might be formulated with other raw materials such as pigments, organic resins, fillers and additives. Use of water-based raw materials should be avoided.
• Durability is a unique feature of EXOCOAT™ Ceramic +. It can sustain mechanical abrasion, chemical attack and is UV stable (passed 5000hrs QUV).
• It is suitable for ambient or force cure and can be used in high performance protective finishes as found in protective, coil, marine and automotive applications.
• EXOCOAT™ Ceramic + based paints may be brushed, rolled or sprayed by HVLP or airless spray.

EXOCOAT™ Clearview by Axcentive is a 1K hybrid sol-gel system in ethanol. It has been designed for water repellent, easy-to-clean coatings for glass and ceramic substrates. A substrate coated with EXOCOAT™ Clearview will turn into a hard, water repellent and durable easy-to-clean surface. EXOCOAT™ Clearview keeps windscreens clean from rain drops and improves the vision drastically, especially in difficult wet road conditions, which can be experienced day and night. Besides, it can be used to make easy-to-clean, water shedding tiles and chrome as for example used in kitchens and bathrooms.

EXOCOAT™ AC by Axcentive is a hybrid sol-gel resin for anti-corrosive conversion coatings in 60% ethanol. It is covalently bonds to the surface and applied direct to metal (iron alloy, galvanized steel, phosphated steel, stainless steel and aluminium). It functions as replacement of Cr3+ and Cr6+ based system as used in metal plating and aeromotive industries. It converts metal hydroxide surface into a stable, inert covalently bound monolayer. It can also be used as micrometer-thin primers under conventional organic coatings. It can be overcoated by epoxy primer or polyurethane topcoat systems. EXOCOAT™ AC is suitable for conventional low & high pressure airless and air mixing spraying, dipping, rolling and brushing. It has a shelf life of 12 months.

EXOCOAT™ SH by Axcentive is an inorganic 1K superhydrophobic Sol-Gel system for breathable concrete and masonry sealers. It has extremely high water exclusion properties which helps to produce superhydrophobic coatings. It can be applied on concrete, pavement, wall and stucco to get the so called Lotus Effect. The sol-gel system deposits as superhydrophobic particles on the porous substrate. EXOCOAT™ SH will not form a film and as a result the wall stays breathable. With the contact angle of 145o water droplets bounce back from the surface and will roll down immediately upon touch. Thus, the wall remains dry, clean and will behave as efficient barrier against water.

EXOCOAT™ Clearview-2 by Axcentive is a 2K hybrid sol-gel in ethanol. It is designed for durable water repellent, easy to clean, dirt resistant glass coatings. This solvent-based nano system can be applied in coatings for automotive windscreens, or glass bathroom doors. It can be applied as such or diluted, in coatings as a monolayer to obtain a very hard and durable hydrophobic surface. EXOCOAT™ Clearview-2 keeps windows clean from rain drops and improves the vision drastically, especially in difficult wet road conditions, which can be experienced day and night. In bathroom glass it makes the water run down fast and avoids water spots.
