Silicate Resins for Coatings and Inks

ADDAPT® SilStab™ L 100 by ADDAPT Chemicals is a solvent-free, potassium silicate solution for aqueous systems such as renders (putz), interior and exterior primers and textured masonry coatings. ADDAPT® SilStab™ L 100 is a stabilized potassium silicate solution in water.

ADDAPT® SilStab™ HL+ by ADDAPT Chemicals is a solvent-free, potassium silicate solution optimized with a hydrophobic component for use in aqueous systems such as renders (putz), textured masonry coatings and interior paints. It is a stabilized potassium silicate solution with a hydrophobic component in water. ADDAPT® SilStab™ HL+ has a different stabilization system compared to SilStab™ DC3.

ADDAPT® SilStab™ DC3 by ADDAPT Chemicals is a solvent-free, potassium silicate solution optimized with a hydrophobic component for use in aqueous systems such as renders (putz), textured masonry coatings and interior paints. It is a stabilized potassium silicate solution with a hydrophobic component in water. ADDAPT® SilStab™ DC3 has a different stabilization system compared to SilStab™ HL+.

Acrylan LS 283 by Baumeister is a low molecular weight silanated polyvinyl alcohol by Baumeister. It is recommended for the formulation of cationic ink jet receiving layers.

Acrylan LS 285 by Baumeister is a mid-molecular weight silanated polyvinyl alcohol by Baumeister. It is recommended for the formulation of cationic ink jet receiving layers.

Acrylan LS 287 by Baumeister is a high molecular weight, silanated polyvinyl alcohol by Baumeister. It is recommended for the formulation of cationic ink jet receiving layers.

Wacker® Silicate S 100 by Wacker is an ethyl silicate binder. Possesses outstanding antisetting properties. Paints formulated with it are easy to stir up even if they have been stored for a long time. Zinc-rich paints based on Wacker® Silicate S 100 may be used as primers or on their own. They protect steel from corrosion in aggressive industrial and coastal atmospheres at high temperatures (up to 420°C) in the presence of chemicals. It is suitable for the formulation of ready-to-use one-pack systems with a flash point >21°C.

Wacker® Silicate MKS by Wacker is an ethyl silicate. Possesses outstanding antisetting properties. Paints formulated with it are easy to stir up even if they have been stored for a long time. Zinc-rich paints based on Wacker® Silicate MKS may be used as primers or on their own. They protect steel from corrosion in aggressive industrial and coastal atmospheres at high temperatures (up to 420°C) in the presence of chemicals.

Wacker® Silicate TES 40 WN by Wacker is ethyl silicate polymer. Provides approximately 41% of silicon dioxide (silica) upon complete hydrolysis.

• It is a storage-stable, low-viscous binder.
• It is a liquid source of silica with a high flash point.
• Wacker® Silicate TES 40 WN is used for zinc-rich anti-corrosion paints such as shop primers.
• It is recommended for coating material for pigments and fibers.
• It is suitable for marine, protective and industrial coatings.

Trasol® KW-N by BASF is a UV stable binding agent. It is a potassium silicate solution with a high silica content. It penetrates into the substrate and its porosity inhibits condensation of water.

• Possesses heat resistance, low sensitivity to dirt and no yellowing.
• Exhibits high chemical resistance and inhibits the growth of germs.
• In comparison to sodium silicate, it gives a hardened coating of higher water resistance and much lower tendency for efflorescence.
• It may be used for coating of fiber cement, calcium silicate-, mineral-fiber and other boarding materials.
• Trasol® KW-N is used in outdoor & indoor paints, plasters, primers, industrial coatings of construction- and insulation boards.
