Polyester Resins for Coatings and Inks

EBECRYL® 436 by allnex is a reactive chlorinated polyester resin diluted 40% with the reactive diluent trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA). It exhibits good lithographic behavior, pigment wetting properties and fast cure response in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. Cured films of EBECRYL® 436 display good adhesion to metals, plastics and paper. It is recommended for wet lithographic inks for paper, plastics and metals, overprint varnishes and post-formable inks.

MARNEX™ AH451 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows good processability, excellent flexibility and adhesive strength to steel & aluminum. Also, better adhesion and film strength can be achieved while cross-linked with melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH451 is used in interior can coating, tubes, aerosol cans and heat seal coating applications. It complies with FDA 175.300 only for non-alcoholic goods. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

CRYLCOAT® 2423-1 (Old Name: CRYLCOAT® E 04323) by allnex is a high Tg (glass transition temperature) carboxylated polyester resin. Suitable for use in tribo applicable powder coatings with TGIC in a ratio of 93/7. The shelf life of CRYLCOAT® 2423-1 is 12 months at <30°C.

CRYLCOAT® 2411-2 (Old Name: CRYLCOAT® E 04311) by allnex is a carboxylated polyester resin for use in 93/7 TGIC or 95/5 HAA powder coatings. Offers outstanding flow, very good flexibility, improved ageing stability and excellent outdoor durability.

• It is suitable for processing by extrusion.

MARNEX™ AH448 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel, aluminum foil, PET or PVC films. Also, better adhesion and film strength can be achieved while cross-linked with melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents. This grade offers heat seal properties, flexibility, good processibility and no sticky problem during transportation. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH448 is recommended for interior can coating and screen printing & gravure inks. It complies with FDA 175.300 (only for non-alcoholic goods) and 175.105. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

UVECOAT® 3001 by allnex is an amorphous unsaturated polyester resin. It is developed for indoor applications such as MDF and sandable primers. It exhibits good scratch and chemical resistance. UVECOAT® 3001 is suitable for use in UV curable powder coatings. The shelf life of the resin is 12 months.

MARNEX™ AH651 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel and PET or PVC films. It offers heat seal properties, excellent pigment wetting and heat resistance. Also, offers better flexibility and adhesion is available while using with low Tg types of resin, such as MARNEX™ AL171 and MARNEX™ AL072. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH651 is used in coil coatings and gravure & screen printing inks. It complies with FDA 175.300 (only for non-alcoholic goods) and 175.105. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

SYNTEVEN 421 distributed by DKSH is a styrenic orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin, amine promoted with high reactivity and high stability properties. It provides fast curing and good color retentions after polymerisation. Fillers based on SYNTEVEN 421 cure fully both applied in thick and thin coats. It is available in Germany, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, India and China.

EBECRYL® 441 by allnex is a highly reactive, chlorinated, bisphenol-A-free polyester resin. It offers improved ink-water balance and lower misting. Exhibits good pigment wetting and dispersion characteristics and is useful as a pigment grinding resin in lithographic ink formulations. It can be diluted with reactive monomers like HDDA, TMPTA, TPGDA and OTA 480. It is designed for screen, gravure inks and flexographic printing. UV curing inks produced with EBECRYL® 441 offers high reactivity and excellent adhesion to plastic, metal and paper substrates.

SETAL® 189 XX-65 by allnex is a saturated polyester resin. It offers high hardness, very good adhesion and flexibility. It exhibits good chemical and water resistance. It shows good compatibility with CAB and good pigment wetting.

• Applications of SETAL® 189 XX-65 include base-coats and solid color topcoats for vehicle refinish and automotive OEM.
• It has a shelf life of 545 days.
