Polyester Resins for Coatings and Inks

EBECRYL® 436 by allnex is a reactive chlorinated polyester resin diluted 40% with the reactive diluent trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA). It exhibits good lithographic behavior, pigment wetting properties and fast cure response in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. Cured films of EBECRYL® 436 display good adhesion to metals, plastics and paper. It is recommended for wet lithographic inks for paper, plastics and metals, overprint varnishes and post-formable inks.

MARNEX™ AH448 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel, aluminum foil, PET or PVC films. Also, better adhesion and film strength can be achieved while cross-linked with melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents. This grade offers heat seal properties, flexibility, good processibility and no sticky problem during transportation. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH448 is recommended for interior can coating and screen printing & gravure inks. It complies with FDA 175.300 (only for non-alcoholic goods) and 175.105. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

MARNEX™ AH651 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel and PET or PVC films. It offers heat seal properties, excellent pigment wetting and heat resistance. Also, offers better flexibility and adhesion is available while using with low Tg types of resin, such as MARNEX™ AL171 and MARNEX™ AL072. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH651 is used in coil coatings and gravure & screen printing inks. It complies with FDA 175.300 (only for non-alcoholic goods) and 175.105. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

CRYLCOAT® 1781-0 (Old name: ALFTALAT® 04181) by allnex is a carboxyl functional saturated polyester resin for use with epoxy resins in a 70/30 ratio to manufacture hybrid powder coatings. Formulations based on CRYLCOAT® 1781-0 provide good flow and very good gloss with very high glass transition temperature. Its shelf life is 24 months under normal storage conditions (<30°C).

CRYLCOAT® 2431-0 (Old Name: CRYLCOAT® E 04131) by allnex is carboxyl functional polyester resin for use with 10% TGIC or 7% HAA to manufacture powder coatings preferably smooth G30 matte dry blend systems in combination with CRYLCOAT®2452-2. Formulations based on CRYLCOAT® 2431-0 exhibit good flow, high solvent resistance, excellent outdoor weathering resistance and outstanding storage stability.

• It has a shelf life of 12 months at <30°C.

CRYLCOAT® 4823-0 by allnex is a saturated, super-durable, hydroxyl functional polyester resin. Coatings based on this product exhibit good flow, mechanical, chemical and weathering resistance. It is used with block polyisocyanates or uretdiones in the production of powder coatings. The shelf life of CRYLCOAT® 4823-0 is 24 months.

CRYLCOAT® 1791-2 (Old name: CRYLCOAT® E 04281) by allnex is a medium reactive, carboxyl functional, saturated polyester resin for use with epoxy resins EEW 700-900 in a ratio 70/30 to manufacture hybrid powder coatings. Formulations containing CRYLCOAT® 1791-2 exhibit good flow, mechanical properties and very good gas oven resistance. Its shelf life is 24 months under normal storage conditions (<30°C).

MARCOA™ CH488 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It is suitable to replace BPA based epoxy resins for BADGE-free formulations. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel and aluminum. A mixed crosslinking agent with melamine, phenolic and block NCO is recommended. MARCOA™ CH488 offers high sterilization resistance and good flexibility. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE and EA. And, it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. Recommended for interior can coating, three-piece cans, pilfer proof caps and drawn & irregular cans. It complies with FDA 175.300, also for alcoholic contents. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

CRYLCOAT® 2441-3 by allnex is a tribo-active, carboxyl functional polyester resin. It is used with 7% TGIC or 5% HAA in the production of powder coatings. Formulations based on CRYLCOAT® 2441-3 combine excellent flow and good mechanicals.

CRYLCOAT® 1638-2 by allnex is a carboxyl functional polyester resin for use with epoxy resins EEW 700-900 in 60/40 ratios for the manufacture of hybrid powder coatings. It offers excellent flow out and smoothness. CRYLCOAT® 1638-2 has shelf life of 12 months under normal storage conditions (<30°C).
