Phenol Formaldehyde (PF) Resins for Coatings and Inks

PHENODUR® PR 825/70MPAC by allnex is bisphenol A-free, heat-curing, non-plasticized phenolic resin. It has very light color and provides excellent flexibility, good sulfur resistance and medium reactivity for BADGE- and BPA-NI usage, “coil for can” cycle and foils.

• It is suitable for high adhesion, chemical resistant protective epoxy/phenolic coatings for the interior and exterior layer of metal containers like collapsible tubes, cans and containers for water, oils and food.
• PHENODUR® PR 825/70MPAC has a shelf life of 730 days.

PHENODUR® PR 263/70B by allnex is a curable phenolic resin. It is used as a binder in corrosion protection and formulate wash- and shop primer in combination with polyvinyl butyral. It exhibits low viscosity and good pigment wetting properties. This grade imparts good hiding & filling power and offers excellent water resistance. PHENODUR® PR 263/70B can be stored at 25°C for 365 days.

PHENODUR® VPR 1740/50WA by allnex is phenol resol dispersion used as a binder for coated abrasives and impregnation. Shows a high drying and curing speed. Exhibits a good adhesion on organic and inorganic surfaces. PHENODUR® VPR 1740/50WA can be stored at 15-20°C for 90 days.

PHENODUR® PR 722/53BG/B by allnex is a curable unplasticized phenolic resin with chemical resistance and high adhesion. It is suitable for heat curing, higher molecular weight phenolic/epoxide resin combinations. This grade is designed for interior and exterior stoving coatings in sheet-metal packaging containers employed in the food industry.

• It is also used in protective coatings for apparatus, vessels & pipelines and can coatings.
• PHENODUR® PR 722/53BG/B can be stored at 25°C for 730 days.

PHENODUR® PR 515/60LG by allnex is a curable, unplasticized phenolic resin. It exhibits excellent adhesion, hardness, flexibility, and very good resistance against chemicals, mineral oils and food. It provides resistance to a great variety of acids, alkalines, and organic solvents.

• It is compatible with high molecular weight epoxide resins and polyvinylbutyrales.
• It is used to formulate transparent, heat curing coatings for the interior coating of metal packaging goods like collapsible tubes, cans and containers for water, oils and food.
• PHENODUR® PR 515/60LG has a shelf life of 365 days.

PHENODUR® PR 616/65B by allnex is a bisphenol-A- & F-free, curable phenolic resin. It is delivered as 65% in n-butanol. It exhibits high reactivity, direct to metal, faster curing speed and improved sterilization resistance. It provides good balance of properties, excellent adhesion, improved flexibility and hardness. It is used as a curing resin in combination with high molecular weight epoxide resins of type #7 and/or of type# 9 or with polyester resins of DUROFTAL® family. Mixtures of this product with polyester resins result in BADGE-free and BPA-NI can coating systems.

• It yields highly flexible films with good adhesion and chemical resistance for the interior coating of cans, tubes, drum linings and other packaging containers used in the food and luxury commodity industries.
• PHENODUR® PR 616/65B can be used as sole binder for relatively brittle, highly resistant pigmented stoving enamels on rigid substrates, e.g. for chemically resistant interior linings for vessels, apparatus and pipelines.
• It is recommended for interior and exterior coatings of metal packaging containers and protective coatings.
• The suitable solvents/diluents are glycol ethers, esters, diacetone alcohol and ketones.
• It is food contact compliant and has a shelf life of 365 days.

PHENODUR® PR 516/60B LF by allnex is a curable, unplasticized phenolic resin for protective coatings and inks. It is a lower free formaldehyde modification of PHENODUR® PR 516/60B. It offers excellent adhesion, hardness, flexibility and good resistance against acids, alkalines, chemicals, organic solvents and food.

• It is compatible with high molecular weight epoxide resins and poly vinyl butyrales.
• It can also be used with food contact compliant polyester resins (DUROFTAL®) and other resins to formulate BADGE & Bis A-free/non-intent systems.
• PHENODUR® PR 516/60B LF is recommended for transparent, heat curing coatings for interior and exterior coating of metal packaging goods such as collapsible tubes, cans, apparatus, vessels, pipelines and containers for water, oils and food.
• It has a shelf life of 365 days at temperatures up to 25°C.

PHENODUR® PR 521/60B by allnex is a heat curing, unplasticized phenolic resin. It is suitable for low temperature curing interior and exterior coatings of metal packaging containers employed in the food industry such as collapsible tubes, cans and containers for water, oils & food. It provides very good resistance against chemicals, mineral oils and food. PHENODUR® PR 521/60B is compatible with high molecular weight epoxide resins and polyester resins. It also offers resistance against acids, alkaline, organic solvents and food. It has a shelf life of 24 months. Its form of delivery is 60% in butanol (60B).

PHENODUR® PR 411/75B by allnex is a heat curable phenolic resin. It is used in coating interior and exterior surfaces of packaging containers and cans as well as for protective coatings for apparatus, vessels, pipelines. It offers chemical resistance and high adhesion. This product displays improved flow properties and a significantly reduced residual monomer content. It is suitable for heat curing phenolic/epoxide, phenolic/polyester resin and phenolic/polyvinyl butyral combinations. PHENODUR® PR 411/75B is designed for physically drying paints with resistance to fuel and oil. The shelf life of this product is 730 days.

PHENODUR® PR 612/80B LF by allnex is a heat curable, phenolic resin. It does contain bisphenol A nor bisphenol F. It is preferably used as curing resin in combination with high molecular weight epoxide resins to formulate interior can coating systems. Also, used in electro & wire insulation varnishes and magnetic wire enamels. PHENODUR® PR 612/80B LF is used in phenolic/epoxide resin combinations, high-adhesion, chemically resistant protective coatings for apparatus, vessels and pipelines. Also, used in epoxy-free (= BADGE-free & BPA-NI) formulas with polyester resins. It can also be combined with food contact compliant polyester resins of DUROFTAL® product family to formulate BPA-NI coatings. It is delivered as 80% in n-butanol. Glycol ethers, esters, diacetone alcohol and ketones are suitable as solvents/diluents for this grade. The shelf life of this product is 730 days.
