Heat Stabilizers for Coatings and Inks

Luna-fos 126J distributed by DKSH is a high performance organo-phosphite processing stabilizer. It has been designed to protect coatings from thermo-oxidative degradation by decomposing hydroperoxides to form non-radical, non-reactive products.

• It offers excellent thermal and color stability to coatings upon exposure to high temperatures during processing and curing.
• It is particularly suited to stabilize polyester based systems that are used in powder coatings that undergo electric or direct-gas-fired oven curing, other high industrial bake conditions.
• A special feature of Luna-fos 126J is its efficiency in the presence of NOx gases that are generated during direct gas fired ovens, thus, eliminated yellowing that normally occurs under these baking conditions.
• It is available in USA and Europe.

Irgafos® 168 by BASF is a hydrolytically stable tris (2,4-di-tert-butylphenyl)phosphite. Acts as a stabilizer and shows change in physical properties caused by excessive heat exposure. Exhibits low volatility and hydrolysis resistance. It protects polymers prone to oxidation during processing and prevents discoloration. Provides very good protection against discoloration. Irgafos® 168 is designed for industrial powder coatings (electrical and gas oven heating) and coil coatings.

FutureChem® OABH by FutureFuel Chemical Company acts as a heat stabilizer and metal deactivator. It offers excellent chelation properties for copper cations. It reduces corrosion of copper wire in polymeric cable and coatings. FutureChem® OABH is used in organic intermediates and compounds.

Lankromark™ LE571 by Valtris Specialty Chemicals is an organophosphite-based heat stabilizer. It is a phenol-free tris-alkylphosphite. It is suitable for use in PVC, PP, PE, rubber, PU and polyolefins. Lankromark™ LE571 is recommended for flooring, roofing, paints and spread coating applications.

OMNISTAB IC by Deltachem(QingDao) is a complex blend of inhibitor and stabilizer developed specifically to optimize the shelf life and heat stability of UV coatings. It has been dissolved in TPGDA for ease of incorporation. It is especially recommended for white printing inks and clear coatings.

Sebacic Acid (Cofco) by Cofco International is a solvent, plasticizer and heat stabilizer. It is a dicarboxylic acid derived from castor oil through dry distillation with caustic soda at high temperatures. It acts as a stabilizer in alkyd resins, polyesters and polyurethanes. Sebacic Acid (Cofco) enhances the antirust properties of lubricants.

Doverphos® HiPure 4HR by Dover Chemical (ICC Industries) acts as a heat stabilizer. It gives very good final color & has low free nonylphenol content and provides improved hydrolytic stability. It prevent black specks when used in a water emulsion for stabilizing polymers. It is compatible with PVC, ABS, nylon, elastomers, polyolefins, polycarbonates, polyurethane, polystyrenes and polyethylene terephthalate. Used in powder coatings. The recommended usage is 0.05 to 3.00%.

Doverphos® HiPure 4HR Plus by Dover Chemical (ICC Industries) acts as a heat stabilizer. It gives very good final color and has low free nonylphenol content. Contains triisopropanolamine and provides maximum hydrolytic stability. Used in powder coatings.
