Ethylene Co-terpolymers (EVA, EMA) for Coatings and Inks

Vinavil EVA 04 by Vinavil is a water dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer. It is free from plasticizers, coalescing agents and alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO-free). It shows low water absorption and high alkali resistance.

• It has a pseudo-plastic behavior that gives good workability to the paints based on it.
• It gives a low film-forming temperature, even without coalescing agents.
It is compatible with additives and fillers commonly used in paints preparations.
• Recommended in particular for exterior insulation finish system (EIFS).
• It is also used for interior water-based paints and wall textured coatings.
• Vinavil EVA 04 has a shelf life of 6 months.

Vinavil EVA 4612 by Vinavil is a water-based dispersion of vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, free from solvents (plasticizers and coalescing agents), alkylphenol ethoxylate (APEO) with very low free monomer content. It has been optimized in order to achieve low MFFT value, high mechanical film properties and very low tackiness. It shows good alkali resistance and confers good workability to the paints. It is compatible with all components used to prepare emulsion paints, in particular with the organic titanates used as structuring agents for thixotropic paints. It is suitable to formulate water-borne interiors/exteriors paints, also at high PVC level, satin and wall textured coatings, where a low content of volatile organic compounds (low-VOC) and no odor is required. Vinavil EVA 4612 has a shelf life of 6 months. It is possible to formulate paints according to the Ecolabel legislation, in compliance with the ecological criteria.

Dur-O-Set® TX-848 by Celanese is a vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer emulsion. Exhibits high solid and low viscosity properties with selected stabilizer system which produces a binder that easily accepts high filler loadings. It has low VOC emission which is critical for carpet applications.

A-C® 405M distributed by DKSH is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer in prill form, with a VA content of 8%, for use in solvent borne coatings to control rheology and provide metallic flake orientation. It is used extensively in automotive basecoats. It is available in APAC region (Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Philippines).

A-C® 405T distributed by DKSH is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer in prill form, with a VA content of 6%, for use in solvent borne coatings to control rheology and provide metallic flake orientation. It is used extensively in automotive basecoats.

• It is available in APAC region (Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Philippines).

Ateva® 1943 by Celanese is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) resin. It offers high transparency, filler loading capacity and excellent adhesion. Exhibits low melting temperature, hot tack strength and low seal initiation temperature. Ateva® 1943 is designed for coatings and flexible packaging applications.

Ateva® 1943SB by Celanese is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) resin. Exhibits low melting temperature, hot tack strength and low seal initiation temperature. It offers high transparency, filler loading capacity and excellent adhesion. Ateva® 1943SB is recommended for use in coating and flexible packaging applications.

Melthene® H6410M by Tosoh is saponified ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer. Offers weather resistance, solvent resistance and excellent adhesion to various substrates. Melthene® H6410M is used in extrusion coating for modified wire & cables.

VINNAPAS® 7034 E by Wacker is a general-purpose, flexible, odorless, water-dispersible, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) terpolymer based on vinyl acetate, ethylene and vinyl ester. Produced without the addition of organic solvents, plasticizers and film-forming agents. Contains a fine mineral filler as an antiblocking agent. Compatible with other mortar additives. Exhibits excellent workability, good processability, low emissions and good adhesion. Offers good flexural strength in bending, deformability, abrasion resistance. VINNAPAS® 7034 E is suitable for patching compounds and skin coats for walls, cement-based and cement-free powder paints. Recommended for finishes, base-coat and one-coat for renders/ plasters/ stucco, top-coat & finishes for external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS/ EIFS). Complies with ECL, ENCS, NZIoC, AICS, DSL, PICCS, TSCA, TCSI, REACH, GHS and CLP.

VINNAPAS® 8034H by Wacker is a flexible dispersible terpolymer powder based on vinyl chloride, ethylene and vinyl laurate with strong hydrophobic effect and good workability. Performs as binder and hydrophobizing agent. When blended with inorganic binders, the resin will provide improved adhesion, flexural strength, deformability and abrasion resistance and are easier to process. It is suitable for formulating compounds that must exhibit good very good water repellency. VINNAPAS® 8034H is used in skim coats on walls and in EIFS.
