It is a widely used building block as well as a photo initiator molecule in a variety of 3D printings. It can also be synthesized by the Friedel-Crafts acylation of benzene with benzoyl chloride. Benzophenone has a high quantum yield that makes it useful in the development of UV curable photopolymers.

Benzoyl peroxide, contains 25 wt. % water as stabilizer by Alfa Chemistry is an aromatic monomer suitable for surface coatings.

PARAXYLENE by SABIC is a colorless, flammable liquid. It is separated from the mixed xylene stream that results from the refining of petroleum. PARAXYLENE is mostly used in manufacturing of terephthalic acid (PTA) and dimethyl esters which are used in polyester manufacturing.
