HALOX® XTAIN® L-47 by ICL is a zinc-free, ammonia-free, volatile organic compound (VOC)-free liquid tannin stain inhibiting additive. It is designed to stop tannin bleed in various waterborne coating systems such as acrylic emulsions and polyurethane dispersions (PUD) applied to a variety of wood species for example, redwood, merbau, and oak.
- It offers superior performance without the need for Zn2+ cations thus conforming to European ecolabel requirements.
- HALOX® XTAIN® L-47 provides similar efficiency as its predecessor HALOX® XTAIN® L-44.

It contains zirconium chemistry which is more efficient as a chelator. It has excellent tannin stain blocking properties that can be achieved without the need for zinc oxide which is required to achieve performance by most tannin blocking polymers on the market today.
- It eliminates the need for zinc oxide without sacrificing performance, resulting in improved package stability and shelf life of the coating system.
- Recommended dosage level is 1-3% based on total formula weight.
- HALOX® XTAIN® L-44 has a shelf life of 24 months.

It contains zirconium and aluminum cations which chelate phenolic side groups in tannic acid. It is a highly efficient tannin stain inhibitor providing a high level of performance and compatibility in a variety of resin systems such as styrene-butadiene latexes, acrylic latexes, vinyl acrylic latexes, and solvent-borne alkyds.

HALOX® CZ-170 by ICL is a white, nonrefractive, corrosion and tannin stain inhibiting pigment used in protective coating systems. It is an effective replacement for zinc oxide. It can also be used in high gloss (+75 gloss units at 60°) and thin film applications.
- Recommended dosage level is 2-5% by total formula weight in multi-substrate waterborne systems and 0.5-2% by total formula weight in high gloss and thin film systems, for both water and solvent-borne coatings.

HALOX® RC-980

HALOX® RC-980 by ICL is an organic additive designed to convert red rust to a black iron oxide. It converts the rust within minutes of the coating application and forms a black iron oxide barrier which can further be top-coated with water or solvent-based paints.
- It can be used in slightly acidic waterborne vinyl or PVDC binders applied to rusted steel substrates.
