Cellulosic Resins

Based on 126 products - Last update on the Jun 26, 2025

Cellulosic resins typically appear as white to off-white powders or granular materials. Their functionality stems from modified cellulose polymers, which provide film-forming capabilities, rheology modification, and protective properties in coatings. Key features include excellent film clarity, good hardness, fast solvent release, and compatibility with various other resins. They are highly suitable for clear coats, wood lacquers, inks, and specialized industrial coatings where their ability to form tough, clear films with rapid drying times and good scratch resistance is highly valued.

While acrylic, vinyl, and other synthetic resins are alternatives, cellulosic resins often offer a unique combination of film properties and application characteristics, particularly for fast-drying systems. Sub-types include nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB), cellulose acetate propionate (CAP), and ethyl cellulose, each offering different balances of flexibility, hardness, and solubility.
