Carbonate Monomers for Coatings and Inks

DAXSOL® Glycerol carbonate by UBE is a hydroxyl-functional carbonate. It can be used as an active solvent, diluent, plasticizer and compatibilizer for different systems of solvents in various applications, including electrolytes. It can react with amines to make urethane bonding.

• Due to its dual functionality, it can also be used as synthetic intermediate for chain extensions and cross-linkage.
• It also acts as a blocking agent for isocyanates used in water-borne polyurethane dispersion for coatings and paintings.
• It reduces weight loss in cathodic electrocoatings, and acts as an anti-crater agent.
