There is development of advanced antioxidant systems, including hindered phenols and phosphites, which offer synergistic protection against thermal and oxidative aging. Regulations restricting volatile and migration-prone stabilizers have driven the shift toward non-extractable and polymer-bound antioxidants. Subtypes include primary antioxidants for radical scavenging and secondary antioxidants for hydroperoxide decomposition, ensuring coatings maintain their appearance and mechanical integrity over time.
