Alkyd Resins for Coatings and Inks

SYNAQUA® 821-1377 distributed by DKSH is a short oil, chain stopped acrylic modified alkyd dispersion. It is suitable for very low HAP’s applications. It does not contain any surfactants or plasticizers.

• It is designed for low VOC architectural and industrial topcoats applications.
• It is the butoxyethanol free version of CHEMPOL® 821-1391.
• It offers fast drying, high gloss, and early water resistance, with excellent adhesion to wood, plastic, and metal substrates, as well as very good wet adhesion to wood.

SYNAQUA® E21219 distributed by DKSH is an acid functional acrylic resin designed to crosslink at room temperature with epoxy resins or epoxy silanes. It provides very low VOC isocyanate-free waterbased two-pack coating systems.

• It is designed to react with economic bisphenol A type epoxies or epoxy silanes.
• It offers high gloss and good exterior durability.
• In contrast to waterborne polyurethane 2-pack coatings, no reaction with isocyanate or waterborne media is involved.
• This allows coatings based on SYNAQUA® E21219 to achieve high film thickness with a low level of pinholes or surface defects.

CHEMPOL® 801-2164 distributed by DKSH is a solvent-free linseed oil alkyd intended for use as a modifier for exterior acrylic latex paints. It is a high-performance resin specifically formulated for use in industrial coatings. It boasts a unique blend of polymers that ensure resistance to harsh environments.

• It improves adhesion and durability over chalky surfaces, with good wetting characteristics, protection and excellent flexibility.
• Recommended dosage level is up to 2% based on acrylic latex solids.

ETERKYD 242-XM-60 distributed by DKSH is a high-viscosity, styrenated alkyd resin with unusual atomization properties that produce an excellent hammer pattern.

• It is recommended for large-patterned hammer finishes and interior & exterior finishes on metal.
• It is suitable for extremely fast-drying industrial finishes for toys metal furniture and hardware.

CHEMPOL® 810-0097 distributed by DKSH is a water reducible chain stopped air dry alkyd. It offers exceptional performance, good water resistance, gloss retention and durability. It is specifically formulated to provide superior protection against corrosion, abrasion, and chemical exposure.

SYNAQUA® AD 821-2241 distributed by DKSH is a medium oil acrylic modified alkyd dispersion. It is suitable for applications where penetration into porous substrates is critical for durability and moisture resistance. It offers excellent moisture resistance, early water resistance, and superior adhesion to wood stains and concrete.

• Additionally, it provides a long open time, low odor, and easy clean-up.
• It is recommended for low VOC air dry architectural coatings.

ETERKYD 21051-B-75 distributed by DKSH is an eco-friendly, water reducible alkyd that is used for grinding and has good adhesion, hardness, quick drying, high gloss and yellowing & corrosion resistance.

• It does not contain ammonia & water and can be easy to design formulation.
• ETERKYD 21051-B-75 is recommended for waterborne 1 k topcoat for air-drying, mixed paint or enamel and metal coatings.

ETERKYD 2109-M-70 distributed by DKSH is a fast air-drying medium-oil soybean alkyd resin with excellent color & color retention, good enamel stability and good hardness.

• It shows excellent hardness and durability on exterior exposure and provides good film resistance to water, oil and gasoline.
• It has good compatibility with chlorinated rubber, very good compatibility with pigments, compatible with urea and melamine resin and limited compatibility with refined linseed oil and bodied oils.
• It is recommended for general-purpose finishes with good properties of quick air-drying to hard and color-retentive film, and remains good stability in the can.
