DAXSOL® Glycerol carbonate by UBE is a USDA certificated bio-based, hydroxyl-functional carbonate. It can be used as an active solvent, diluent, plasticizer and compatibilizer in various applications, including electrolytes. It also acts as blocking agent for isocyanates which may be used in water-borne polyurethane dispersion for adhesives.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It can react with amines to make urethane bonding.</li>
<li>Due to its dual functionality, DAXSOL® Glycerol carbonate can also be used as synthetic intermediate for chain extensions and cross-linkage.</li></ul> DAXSOL® Dimethyl carbonate by UBE is a clear, colorless, environmentally friendly green solvent synthesized from carbon monoxide. It is VOC-free, non-mutagenic, non-HAPs with mild & non-offensive odor and low MIR values. It exhibits low toxicity, rapid biodegradability and low bioaccumulation. It displays fast-evaporating rate, miscibility with most of organic solvents, partial solubility in water, and similar melting & boiling points to water.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It can directly replace polar non-sustainable solvents, such as ketones, esters, glycols, toluene, xylene, methyl ethyl ketone and n-butyl acetate.</li>
<li>It is used as a raw material for several methylation, carboxylation and carbomethoxylation processes, including pharmaceutical synthesis.</li>
<li>DAXSOL® Dimethyl carbonate is designed to prepare adhesives.</li>
<li>It is also used as an electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries (LIB) in notebook PCs and cell phones, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).</li>
