Dymerex™ polymerized rosin by Synthomer is a pale, acidic, thermoplastic resin used as a tackifier. It is alcohol-soluble, non-crystalline with high softening point and resistance to oxidation. It is composed of dimeric acids derived from rosin with lesser amounts of monomeric resin acids and neutral materials of rosin origin. Compatible with many natural and synthetic film formers and rubbers. Recommended for adhesives and sealants for bookbinding, non-food contact caps, lids and labels. Dymerex™ is also used in case & carton sealing closings, packaging tape and non-food contact tapes. It reacts readily with polyalcohols or hydrated lime to yield high melting derivatives.
