Glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated wood rosin. Acts as a tackifier. It is a pale, thermoplastic resin with excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration. It is resistant to aging effects with wide range of solubility and compatibility. It is emulsifiable with inherent tackiness. Has applications in adhesives where low odor is desired.
Pexalyn® Ester 10 by Pinova is a glycerol ester of partially dimerized rosin. Acts as a tackifier and rheology modifier. It is a hard, pale, thermoplastic resin. It promotes hardness & water resistance, enables good emulsion stability good adhesion and low ash content. It has a higher softening point than typical glycerol esters of wood or gum rosin, as well as improved color stability and solution properties. It exhibits good oxidation resistance and broad solubility & compatibility. It has applications as a tackifier in hot melt, solvent and emulsion adhesives. It is used as a modifier in sealing waxes. Pexalyn® Ester 10 by Pinova complies with FDA 21 CFR 175.105 regulation.
