Dimethylolpropionic acid. Low molecular weight diol containing two primary hydroxyl groups and one tertiary carboxylic group. Used to introduce carboxylic functional groups into the polymer backbone. Applications include water based alkyds and polyesters, PUDs and e-deposition coatings. Linear polyester polyol that contains both hydroxyl and acid functionality.
