Maleic Acid Dibutyl Ester (DBM) by Celanese is dibutyl maleate diester. It is a colorless liquid with a characteristic ester-like odor. This diester exhibits low glass transition temperature and minimum film forming temperature (MFFT). It reduces hardness & brittleness of VAM homopolymers, improves flexibility of the final films and hydrolytic stability. Maleic Acid Dibutyl Ester (DBM) is used as a comonomer in vinyl and acrylic emulsion polymerization for adhesives. The shelf life of this product is one year.
