Maleic acid Di (2-ethylhexyl) Ester (DOM) by Celanese is dioctyl maleate diester. It is a clear, virtually colorless liquid with an ester-like odor. This diester exhibits low glass transition temperature, minimum film forming temperature (MFFT), reduces hardness & brittleness of VAM homopolymers, improves flexibility of the final films and hydrolytic stability. Maleic acid Di (2-ethylhexyl) Ester (DOM) is used as a comonomer in vinyl and acrylic emulsion polymerization for adhesives. The shelf life of this product is one year.
