Behenyl Acrylate 1822 F (BEA 1822 F) by BASF is behenyl acrylate (acrylic acid ester). It provides low shrinkage, hydrophobicity and weatherability to polymers. Forms homopolymers and copolymers with acrylic acid (& its salts), amides, esters, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters and drying oils. Imparts flexibility, impact strength, chemical resistance, hydrolytic resistance. Readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds, hence it is also a very useful feedstock for chemical syntheses. Behenyl Acrylate 1822 F (BEA 1822 F) can be used in pour-point depressants and flow improving polymers. Behenyl Acrylate 1822 (BEA 1822) by BASF is a mixture of C18, C20 and C22 acrylates. It is a monofunctional monomer with a long hydrophobic side chain pendant group. It imparts flexibility, impact strength, chemical resistance, hydrolytic resistance, low shrinkage, hydrophobicity and weatherability to polymers.
