TMXDI® by allnex is an aliphatic isocyanate monomer. It contains two tertiary aliphatic diisocyanate groups. Provides adhesion, flexibility, and toughness to light-stable, water-borne and heat-activated adhesives. TMXDI® is used to prepare solvent-free polyurethane dispersions. TMXDI® (META) by allnex is an unsaturated aliphatic tetramethylxylylene diisocyanate grade. Offers exceptional toughness, improved aluminum flake orientation, excellent light stability and exterior durability. Designed for use in the synthesis of solvent-free, water-based, low-VOC polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) that are stable and easy to work with for improved manufacturing efficiency. These PUDs are used to prepare light stable, water-based adhesives with adhesion, even to difficult substrates (performance that equals or exceeds solvent-based systems). Suitable for aqueous adhesives, two-component adhesives & sealants, one shot adhesives & sealants and moisture cure sealants. TMXDI® (META) has been sanctioned by FDA for use in food packaging adhesives under 21CFR 175.105, Non Food Contact.
