GENIOSIL® XM 25

Supplied byWacker- Last Updated on Jun 25, 2025

GENIOSIL® XM 25 by Wacker is a gamma-silane-terminated polyether. It is an organofunctional silane group at one of their chain ends and so it crosslinks only at that end. On curing, the new polymers are firmly integrated into the resulting three-dimensional polymer network, reducing the crosslink density. It not only adheres to concrete, wood, aluminum and glass, but also to low-energy surfaces such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS) and cured ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber without prior pre-treatment of these substrates.
  • It can be blended with other silane-terminated polymers in the desired ratio.
  • Potential applications include sealants for expansion joints in buildings and for connection joints between window frames and walls.
  • GENIOSIL® XM 25 is used in the formulation of low-modulus sealants with exceptionally high elastic recovery.
