Gamma-mercaptopropyltriethoxysilane (50% solution of silane in methanol). It is a bifunctional organosilane having a reactive organic ureido group and a hydrolyzable inorganic triethoxysilyl group. It acts as coupling agent and adhesion promoter. It is a colorless liquid with an alcohol like odor. It can bind chemically to both inorganic materials and organic polymers. It can be used to improve properties like modulus of elasticity, tensile strength, abrasion resistance etc.
