Glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated gum rosin. Acts as a tackifier. It is a pale, thermoplastic resin with excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration. Used in solvent, hot melt, and emulsion adhesives based on thermoplastic and elastomeric materials. Has applications as tackifier in emulsion form for natural rubber, SBR, and neoprene latex in aqueous base adhesives. Also used as tackifier for natural rubber, SBR, polyisobutylene, and methacrylate resins in industrial tapes, surgical tapes.
