Foral® 85 by Pinova (DRT) is a glycerol ester of highly hydrogenated refined wood rosin. It acts as a tackifier. It is particularly effective in tackifying acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives for tapes, labels, medical appliances, and specialty applications. It imparts hot tack and heat sealability in hot melt adhesives and improves adhesion to substrates.
- It is an exceptionally pale thermoplastic resin that has outstanding resistance to oxidation and to discoloration caused by heating and aging.
- Possesses excellent color retention and inherent tackiness.
- Exhibits wide solubility and compatibility with low odor.
- Foral® 85 is also used in the lamination of metal foil, paper, cloth, cellophane, and cellulose acetate films.
