KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88

KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 by Kuraray is a partially saponified, water-soluble, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). It has uniform chemical structure and shows great adhesion. It provides extension of the open time, influence on the rheology, good remoistening properties and high degree of flatness during storage under fluctuating air humidity. It offers minimal blocking tendency even in high air humidity and fast setting after reactivation. It is used as an adhesive raw material. It can also be used as a protective colloid which can influence the particle size distribution, viscosity, stability to stirring, freeze/thaw stability, pigment compatibility & electrolyte stability. It is recommended for gumming of paper on the reverse side (e.g. postage stamps and labels), envelopes & Jiffy®-type bags. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives. Aqueous solutions of KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 can be added to polymer emulsions that are already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol. The shelf life of the product is 12 months.
