Surfynol® AS 5140 by Evonik acts as a wetting agent and defoamer. It offers dynamic wetting without generating excess foam over the most difficult surfaces including silicone release liners. It does not contain added mineral oils, hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), alkyl phenol ethoxylates (APEs) or acetylenic diols. It is a low odor surfactant and provides excellent surface tension reduction. It can be easily incorporated into water-based systems. Surfynol® AS 5140 is used in pigment dispersions, flexible food packaging adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesives. Its recommended usage is between 0.1 and 1.0 % of total formulation weight. It has a shelf life of 24 months.
