HYPALON® 40S by Dow is a stable, chlorosulfonated polyethylene. It possesses good green strength, very good resistance to ozone and oxygen even in nonblack compounds, good oil resistance, very good weathering- & chemical resistance, electricity insulation- & good low temperature properties. It also displays very good heat-aging, heat resistance upto 150°C, good flame retardancy, very good abrasion resistance, good compression set and good tear strength. It shows permanent bright colors and has no discoloration on exposure to light. It exhibits very good mechanical properties on compounding. HYPALON® 40S is used in adhesives.
