Desmodur® VL 51 by Covestro is a MDI-based aromatic polyisocyanate. Used in the formulation of self-levelling two-component polyurethane sealing compounds. Also as a component in the formulation of prepolymers. It is compatible with many
hydroxyl-bearing polyesters and polyethers. Compared with Desmodur® VL, DESMODUR® VL 51 has a lower viscosity when mixed with Desmophen® 5028 GT,1380 BT or castor oil based polyols. Desmodur® VL 51 has a shelf life is 3 months and recommended storage temperature 10-30 °C.
