SP-1056 Resin

Supplied byAkrochem- Last Updated on Jan 31, 2024

SP-1056 Resin (Old name: Akrochem® P-125) by Akrochem is a heat-reactive, bromomethyl octylphenol-formaldehyde resin-based tackifier that contains methylol groups. It may be used with butyl rubber or other unsaturated elastomers with or without functionality. The presence of functionality allows for a faster cure. It is unique in that it does not require a halogen donor. The use of brominated resins in compounding is especially effective when the rubber may be exposed to heat or repeated use. It exhibits good processing properties and offers an adequate scorch safety margin in a wide processing range. SP-1056 Resin with rubber compound shows exceptional scorch safety, high-temperature stability and excellent dynamic properties. It has a faster cure than SP-1055 due to higher bromine content.
