Triacid Monomers for Adhesives and Sealants

Pripol™ 1045 by Cargill is a trimer acid used as a building block for polyamide and epoxy modification. It provides hydrophobicity, corrosion inhibition, flexibility and good compatibility with low polarity materials. This monomer allows product to deform under stress and prevents cracking. Provides hydrolytic stability thus allowing exposure to humid conditions. It also provides good pigment wetting properties and low glass transition temperature. Pripol™ 1045 is designed for use in adhesives and sealants. It is FDA approved.

3-Butene-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid. It is a crosslinking monomer. Used in the preparation of alkenyl ester crosslinking monomers.

SR 507A by Sartomer (Arkema Group) is triallyl cyanurate (99%). This trifunctional monomer improves the electrical and hardness characteristics of polymer systems like polyolefin, polyester, epoxies, and polyvinyl chloride. It has great heat and solvent resistance, excellent mechanical qualities, and outstanding electrical and scorch properties. It uses adhesive manufacturing.

Empol® 1043 by BASF is a tall oil fatty acid, TOFA. It is a trimer acid. Empol® 1043 by BASF imparts the highly desirable properties of flexibility, elasticity and high impact strength.
