All Tackifiers for Adhesives and Sealants

Pentalyn® FC by Pinova (DRT) is a pentaerythritol ester of maleic anhydride-modified wood rosin. Acts as a tackifier. It is a pale, high softening point, high acid number, thermoplastic resin. It is highly soluble in typical organic solvents as well as in dilute aqueous solutions of alkalies, including ammonia. Pentalyn® FC is particularly suitable for modifying compositions based on alcohol-soluble and water-soluble film formers. It contributes high gloss, block resistance, fast solvent release and good adhesion.

FORAL™ 85-E Ester of Hydrogenated Rosin by Synthomer is a pale, thermoplastic ester resin derived from glycerol and a highly stabilized rosin. Offers advantages as the tackifier or modifier resin in various adhesives compositions. Exhibit light color, low odor with resistance to oxidation and to discoloration caused by heat and aging.

• It has a high degree of color retention, oxidation resistance, medium softening point and exceptional cutaneous tolerance.
• FORAL™ 85-E Ester of Hydrogenated Rosin is also used in UV cured acrylics to improve adhesion to low surface energy substrates.
• It shows compatibility with natural-, synthetic- and chlorinated rubber, ethylcellulose, EVA copolymers, low molecular weight polyethylene, SIS and SBS block copolymers, APAO, acrylic resins, polyamide resins, polyurethane compounds and with PVP, polyvinylbutyral, nitrocellulose, drying oils and alkyd resins.
• Recommended for caulks and sealants, labels, roofing, specialty tapes, assembly, hygiene adhesives, packaging and other adhesive applications.

FORAL™ AX-E Fully Hydrogenated Rosin by Synthomer is a thermoplastic, acidic resin produced by hydrogenating rosin to an exceptionally high degree. It is the palest, most highly stabilized rosin. Exhibits oxidation resistance, high acid number, medium softening point, very light color and color retention.

• It is especially indicated as the tackifier and resin modifier in solvent adhesives and hot-melt adhesives.
• It is also used in UV cured acrylics to improve adhesion to low surface energy substrates.
• FORAL™ AX-E Fully Hydrogenated Rosin shows compatibility with natural and synthetic waxes, resins, rubber, drying and non-drying alkyds, blow castor oil, ethylcellulose, synthetic elastomers, thermoplastic polymers and copolymers.
• Recommended for caulk and sealants, packaging specialty, carpet, tapes, specialty tapes, assembly, packaging, hygiene adhesives, roofing and other adhesive applications.

PLASTOLYN™ R1140 Hydrocarbon Resin by Synthomer is an amorphous, low molecular weight hydrocarbon resin derived from aromatic petrochemical feedstocks. Exhibits color stability, excellent heat-stability, low odor and volatility.

• It is fully hydrogenated to a saturated cyclo-aliphatic structure.
• It is used as a modifier of polyolefin polymers.
• PLASTOLYN™ R1140 Hydrocarbon Resin shows compatibility with natural and synthetic rubbers, butyl rubber, polyethylene and polypropylene polymers, EVA resins, APAO, SIS block copolymers, mPE polymers, mPP polymers, PIB and TPE.
• Recommended for caulks and sealants, hygiene adhesives and other adhesive applications.

KRISTALEX™ 5140 Hydrocarbon Resin by Synthomer is a high softening point, low molecular weight resin produced by copolymerization of pure aromatic monomers. Exhibits excellent thermal stability, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance and discoloration.

• It shows good compatibility with EVA (upto 20-40% vinyl acetate) and is suitable for hot-melt & low-color adhesives with improved high temperature resistance.
• In styrenic block copolymer based adhesives, it preferentially associates with the styrenic endblocks, producing higher cohesion at temperatures up to 70°C without affecting tack and adhesion properties.
• KRISTALEX™ 5140 Hydrocarbon Resin is designed primarily for use as a modifier resin in high performance adhesives.
• It shows compatibility with chlorinated paraffins, polystyrene, rosin and modified rosins, rosin ester, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and SBR block copolymers, polyvinylchloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), as well as modifying the styrenic end blocks of all styrene-containing block copolymers.
• Recommended for assembly, caulks and sealants, hygiene adhesives, labels, roofing, specialty tapes, packaging tapes, packaging and other adhesive applications.

FORALYN™ 5020-F Ester of Hydrogenated Rosin by Synthomer is methyl ester of hydrogenated rosin, used as a tackifier. Possesses exceptional cutaneous tolerance and excellent aging characteristics.

• Exhibits low color, low odor, wide solubility and compatibility range.
• It acts an excellent fixative.
• Compatible with nitrocellulose, ethylcellulose, chlorinated rubber, PVC, vinyl acetate-chloride copolymers and polyvinyl ethers.
• It is also compatible with water-soluble film-formers as casein and starch, natural and synthetic resins and rubber, asphalt, and waxes.
• FORALYN™ 5020-F Ester of Hydrogenated Rosin is incompatible with cellulose acetate and polyvinyl acetate.
• Recommended for caulks and sealants, assembly, packaging specialty, packaging, labels, roofing, specialty tapes, tapes and other adhesive applications.

PICCOTAC™ 1095 Hydrocarbon Resin by Synthomer is an aliphatic low molecular weight C5 tackifier. Exhibits, light color, low odor, excellent thermal stability, excellent color stability with excellent peel and tack properties.

• It shows excellent adhesion in formulations with styrene-isoprene styrene (SIS) block copolymer.
• It is stabilized by addition of antioxidant.
• PICCOTAC™ 1095 Hydrocarbon Resin shows compatibility with natural and synthetic rubbers, low-vinyl acetate EVA copolymers, EnBA copolymers, APAO, SIS-, SIBS-, SEBS- and SEPS block copolymers, polyethylene polymers, polypropylene polymers, paraffin and microcrystalline waxes, PIB, OBC, mPE, mPP, and TPE.

DERCOLYTE A 125 by DRT is alpha pinene terpene-based tackifier. It is suitable for the formulation of solvent-based and pressure-sensitive hot-melt adhesives based on SIS or SBS. DERCOLYTE A 125 offers improved tack, adhesion and heat resistance. It is designed for use in tire applications. The shelf life is 18 months.

KRISTALEX™ F85 Hydrocarbon Resin by Synthomer is a thermoplastic hydrocarbon polymer. It is a water-clear, color-stable, low molecular weight tackifier. Exhibits good thermal stability and intermediate softening point.

• It shows good compatibility with EVA (upto 30% vinyl acetate) and is suitable for hot-melt & low-color adhesives with good low temperature properties.
• In styrenic block copolymer-based adhesives KRISTALEX™ F85 Hydrocarbon Resin preferentially associates with the styrenic endblocks, producing lower melt viscosity while maintaining room-temperature cohesion without affecting tack and adhesion properties.
• It is compatible with SBR and styrene-based block copolymers, neoprene, nitrile, polybutadiene, acrylic polymers, chlorinated rubber and EVA resins.
• KRISTALEX™ F85 Hydrocarbon Resin is also compatible with styrenated alkyds, vinylated alkyds, drying oil alkyds and rosin ester resins.

Flytac 117-140 by Guangzhou Flying Dragon is a polymerized rosin-based tackifier. It is made from gum rosin by polymerization via catalyst. Flytac 117-140 has many excellent properties including high softening point, anti-oxidation, non-crystallizing and good compatibility with film-forming agent.
