Preventol® D 7 by LANXESS is a preservative for solutions and dispersions of adhesives. It is a liquid formulation of isothiazolinones. It possesses low acute toxicity.

• It offers a broad spectrum of activity against bacteria including formaldehyde-resistant species, fungi, yeast and algae.
• It is stable over the pH range of 2.5 to 9.0.
• The shelf life of Preventol® D 7 is one year.

Preventol® BIT IT by LANXESS is a formaldehyde-, solvent-, VOC-free, in-can preservative based on benzisothiazolinone and monovalent-stabilized chloromethyl/methyl-isothiazolinone. It is used in synthetic adhesives. This aqueous dispersion of biocidal active ingredients offers broad spectrum of activity against bacteria, mold fungi and yeasts. Preventol® BIT IT displays alkaline stability up to pH 9 and thermal stability up to 60°C. It contains no organic solvents and does not add to the VOC content. It is used for polymer emulsions for the production of building materials for indoor use. The shelf life of this product is 1 year.

Polyphase® 678 by Arxada is a biocide. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, molds and yeasts. It has good miscibility with other active ingredients. Polyphase® 678 is used in adhesives and sealants.

Mergal® 174II by Arxada is a liquid in-container preservative designed for use in adhesives. It provides broad-spectrum protection and delivers cost-effective performance at low use levels. It offers headspace protection through the on-demand release of formaldehyde.

• It is easy to incorporate into formulations and features a low freezing point with excellent freeze-thaw stability.
• Recommended usage level is 0.1-0.3% based on total weight of formulations.
• Mergal® 174II has a shelf life of 24 months.

Mergal® 399 by Arxada is a wet-state preservative designed for waterborne systems. It also acts as a fast-acting antibacterial agent for various systems. It is free of CIT and MIT, compatible across a wide pH range, and temperature stable. It is used in adhesives. Recommended dosage level is 0.05-0.2%. Mergal® 399 has a shelf life of 36 months.

Mergal® 395 by Arxada is a water-white, low-odor, liquid preservative. It exhibits good thermal stability in end formulations up to 70°C, is non-yellowing, and is recognized as skin-safe at recommended use concentrations. It is used to control bacterial and fungal contamination in water-based adhesives and sealants. Recommended usage level is 0.34-1.38%. Mergal® 395 has a shelf life of 36 months.

Polyphase® 663 by Arxada is a biocide. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, molds and yeasts. It has good miscibility with other active ingredients. Polyphase® 663 is used in adhesives and sealants.

Vantocil® IB by Arxada is an aqueous solution. It is a highly effective preservative for use in a wide variety of applications, including oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, industrial reagents, silicone systems, cellulose solutions, and oil recovery systems.

• It can also be used to preserve aqueous-based adhesives (such as animal glues, latex adhesives based on polyvinyl acetate, PVA, starch, dextrin, casein, and other glues, and latex adhesives intended for food packaging applications).
• The recommended usage level of Vantocil® IB is 500-5000 ppm.
